In practice as a clinical social worker for over 13 years, Christine Vaughan is experienced in supporting children, youth, adults and families in navigating challenges that emerge from a wide range of mental health difficulties. She is passionate about helping clients continue moving toward emotional and psychological well-being so they can thrive according to their valued living.

Christine has a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) and a Doctorate degree in Intercultural Studies (PhD ICS). She has training and experience in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. She is committed to ongoing professional development to continue to integrate new techniques into her practice.

In addition to private practice, Christine works at McMaster Children’s Hospital. She is also deeply committed in her volunteer work supporting newcomers in Hamilton, and she was privileged to be a part of establishing a shelter for refugee claimants in Hamilton.

Christine is actively involved with training and supervising social work students and is committed to teaching. In addition to her experience as an instructor of a social work course at Redeemer University College, she is currently part of a teaching team with the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioural Sciences at McMaster University providing clinical instruction in family assessment and formulation in the Clinical Behavioural Sciences program.

Christine is licensed as a social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
